9 month check up

We had Ethan's 9 month wellness check up yesterday...and they had flu shots again, so he FINALLY got his second one. He is 28 inches long(40th percentile), 19 lbs, 8 oz(35th percentile) and right on track with all of his developmental goals. We also were told that the only things we really need to stay away from with him are eggs, fish products and nut products. We haven't decided if it's going to be easier or harder now that we have more choices for him to eat. He did eat chicken sausage yesterday and some chicken from City market today and it was really nice being able to order some thing from a restaurant instead of having to bring everything with us. Christmas is right around the corner and things are starting to get busy around here. Jodi comes in tomorrow and I know she is really excited to see how much Ethan has grown.

We took Ethan to see Santa today at Mayfair-he did really well, no crying or whining, but we didn't get a smile either-just a confused look, but I can deal with that. This pic below is of the sled my parents got him...too bad we don't have enough snow down by the lake yet, I've heard that maybe by Sunday....hopefully-we really want to try it out. Happy holidays!!!!!!

milestones at 9 months

So today Ethan is 9 months old and I'm glad that I didn't write this post this morning as planned-I'd have to add to it. We were just lucky enough to see Ethan pull himself up to standing all by himself and even more lucky that we happened to have the camera nearby to catch his huge smile of accomplishment. I'm excited that he's doing this, but always thinking that means he will be trying to walk in no time-which means bumps and bruises-oh boy! He's also picked up a not so wonderful habit of putting EVERYTHING in his mouth-it has become an impossible task of keeping the floor clear of anything he might want to or decide to stick in his mouth.

This past weekend we celebrated my dad's 6oth birthday-we went out to dinner with my parents, Nick, Janet and the boys. It was really really nice to get to all hang out and go out together-we went back to my parents house afterwards and hung out for awhile too.

Sunday we went and cut down our Christmas tree. We had debated putting one up this year because we knew Ethan would get into it, but decided to get a small one to put on the trunk we have in our living room. It was a lot of fun and we were happy to support someone local.

We're almost done with our holiday shopping, but still have a few to go. I can't believe Christmas is almost here!

Thanksgiving and birthdays

I've always loved Thanksgiving-I may be alittle biased since it's when we celebrate my birthday and now the past two years my nephews bday(he was born on my birthday 2 years ago!) We went over to Nick and Janet's house for Thanksgiving this year-it was a lot of fun, great food and all of the boys did great!!! I was disappointed in the gift we got for Wil though-I ordered it on etsy and was so excited until it came in the mail-It was about half the size of what I had imagined-oops I need to read better next time-it was a wooden bowling set by the way-hopefully he still likes it.

A pic of Ethan in his outfit before we left

On Friday we went out to our annual Friday Fish Fry with some of the Lussier side. Afterwards we headed out for awhile to celebrate my birthday which was on Saturday. Justin helped Ethan make some stepping stones for my birthday-I heard that it ended up being a big hoopla making it with 4 guys surrounding Ethan trying to work together to get it done-I love the gift-it's perfect.

Overall it was a great holiday weekend filled with family and friends. Now Ethan seems to be getting some new teeth in, which he is not enjoying at all- :(

To completely switch topics, Justin Ethan and I went to Johnson Creek last week and we found this costume at one of the stores on sale-we bought it for the slippers since it was only $3.00 for the whole set, but ofcourse I had to try it on Ethan-surprisingly it didn't bother him at all.

A Victory for Dad

So Justin won this round...Ethan is now saying dada...well it's more like dada dada dada-you get the picture. I know he has no idea what's he's saying yet but it's great to see another milestone hit. He also has decided that grover is his new napping buddy and I'm ok with it because now he'll go down for his naps without complaint-we don't let him sleep with grover at night though so that he will still be able to fall asleep without him.
Ethan's diet is also expanding every day-or every 3-4 days :) we're working out way up to bean, tofu, yogurt and other proteins, he will be having turkey on thanksgiving though-can't deprive him of that.

I'm off to Chicago for a much anticipated girls weekend-it will be nice, but I'll miss my boys!

8 months old and some changes

Well Ethan is officially 8 months old-WOW-I know I've said it before but times really flies by. He's now crawling everywhere and is always on the move. He's been growing out of his clothes which means I get to go shopping with him! We've also gotten to get out a bit more this past week-we watched Wil and Graham on Sunday and had so much fun but also realized that 3 kids would be too many on a daily basis, Ethan and I were also able to go to story time in Tosa on Tuesday and Wed at B&N which was fun. Justin and Ethan also got in a trip to the zoo when Heather and Sydney were in town, sadly I think it might be the last trip of the year since winter's headed our way.
In other big news I made the decision to leave CJ and concentrate more on our family and refocus my attention back to Real Estate. I'm excited about the flexibility my schedule will once again have. I know I won't be too happy to start up Open Houses again but the rest of the hours fit with what I need and plus I'll get to scope out all of the houses again. I never stopped being a Realtor, but I did par down my business to referrals, but am ready to gear up again. I've also been doing some freelance design work which has helped out as well, plus it keeps my creative juices flowing! I am also looking into another venture but am not quite ready to disclose yet...

I think that's all for now! Oh yeah here's some of his 8 month pics-he's definitely harder to get to stay in one place now :)

Our Little Gnome

Ethan was a gnome for Halloween this year!

I made Ethan's costume this year and think it turned out pretty good. We stopped by my parents, Nicole and Tiff, and Nick and Janets' houses with Ethan in costume. We got a chance to see Wilson dressed as Elmo which was really cute and went to a few houses with Nick and Wil
We came home and since this was our first year actually living in the house for Halloween time, we weren't sure what to expect, no kids, 10 kids etc. Well we bought a bag of 50 pieces of candy...our trick or treat was from 5-8pm, we didn't get home till 6pm and were out of candy by 7ish and luckilly we had a couple of boxes of granola bars to give out, but we still only made it to 7:30-we'll have to be more prepared next year! One of our neighbors had a haunted house set up though and I heard it was a big hit, so that will be fun to see if they do it again next year.
